Swim live with other students in a 3-minute round. You need at least one other player; Otter AI fills up the rest of the river. If nobody else is around, you'll swim with Otter AI.

How to play

  1. Steer your otter with the mouse (or the arrow keys). On a phone, touch and drag where you want to go.
  2. Eat fish to grow. Every bite makes your tail longer.
  3. Trap other otters. If an otter swims into your tail, it's knocked out and turns into fish. Swim into theirs and you're out, so watch where you're going! Head to head, the bigger otter wins.
  4. Every 20 seconds everyone gets a question. While you answer, your otter stops and goes see-through: nobody can knock you out, but the other otters keep swimming. Answer right for a speed boost. Get it wrong (or run out of time) and you lose a fifth of your length.
  5. Rounds last 3 minutes (choose from 1 to 30 under Game length). The longest otter at the end wins. Answers earn XP and shells when you're logged in.
  6. Multiplayer lobby: swim live against other students (2 to 6 players), with Otter AI otters, marked (AI), filling up the river. Answers in multiplayer earn full XP; against Otter AI, half.
